His hands are huge around yours, or maybe yours are just small in his. It’s not something you’re sure you’ll ever get used to, the way your fingers, nails and all, barely make their way across his palm. He’s grown so much in the past few perigees that those ridiculous bony shoulders and chest of his are right at eye level. 

That chest is the perfect target for your scowl. How the fuck did you even get yourself into this? Gog, what an idiot your past self was for even agreeing to this, knowing full well how nookblisteringly stupid this time-waste of an event this would be and-

“You got a snarl thoughts all up in your head, Karbro.” One hand scritches lightly at your scalp before returning to your waist, a cool and light pressure you nevertheless take into full account.

His voice is a rumble above and ahead and through you, and without even realizing it the hunched planes of your shoulders ease back into a relaxed state. As relaxed as you get, anyway.

“What does a motherfucker got to do to make his best fucking friend enjoy this fine ass music?”

That “fine ass music” was barely audible after you’d yelled at Gamzee earlier to turn it down from its original earache of a . Still, it echoed off this room full of empty spaces, rhythm and gentle harmonies and a melody to match it all. Part of you grudgingly admits that it’s pretty, in that soft Earth way. The other part pushes a growl past your lips.

“You can hurry up and get this over with, that’s what the fuck you can do.”
