That would be wicked awkward, but it’s gonna be terribly awkward anyway because doesn’t this mean the Kaplans are going to meet the Maximoffs? How would that conversation even go? Who gets to walk Billy down the aisle? Would Cap or the new Captain Marvel or maybe even the Super Skrull walk with Teddy?

Please say Kate designs their clothes and Bubbe Kaplan helps with catering. For that matter, what about Billy’s heritage? What about Teddy’s? Whose best man does Tommy get to be? Will he zip back and forth between both sides? Will Eli come? What about the Runaways??? Which heroes will attend, and who takes over heroing duties if there’s a disaster at/during the ceremony?

These are the the things that keep me up at night.)

Oh god. This is … jegus, Minumi. Seriously. My heart.

I’ve been considering writing this fic myself, but to be totally honest, I chickened out. Writing this kind of heartbreak and pain and angst and stuff is a little beyond me most of the time, and doing it with two of the characters I love best seemed too hard. I’m glad I held off because whatever I could have wrote wouldn’t have turned out this good.

Oh, my heart. You are amazing, you really are. Every time I finish something of yours, I’m reminded anew at the amazing level of skill you have with details, and how you can ground something so completely that it feels real and painful and beautiful. Argh, woman. ;_;

So, I’m experimenting with Sims 3 initially before making a full-fledged game- by which I mean, going the full distance and finding software to make custom content and all that jazz. For this first stretch, I made Wanda, Billy, Teddy, and Tommy in one household.

It’s already becoming a source of plotbunnies, oh my god. While socializing everyone to get to know each other first, I accidentally made Teddy do a romantic interaction with Tommy. Billy got fucking PISSED, oh my god. I had to work so hard to get up their relationship points after that, and Tommy was all “dude, yer awkward.” And Wanda and Tommy are somewhat awkward toward each other, no matter how high their relationship is. I don’t even. XDDD

Oh! And their first day of school. Tommy brought home a female NPC. That was hilarious enough, but this Sim girl just seemed to go T: whenever Tommy tried to be nice. Turns out two of her traits were Hot-Headed and Evil, and all Tommy wanted to do after he figured that out was argue with her. And Billy and Teddy want to argue with Tommy at least once. PFFFT

The lolz I had, you guys. I can’t even.

Also, this is giving me plotbunnies like you wouldn’t BELIEVE. And ideas/worries about the next Children’s Crusade. POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW.

So, Wanda at the very least has the power to remake the entire world; she’s already shown that once. The Sims made me think. What if Wanda rewrote the entire world to make it happy? I.e. both her kids are living with her happily, all of their neighbors were old friends, none of them had to fight, and the world was peaceful. And then something happens to shatter that illusion, and everything goes back to the way it was before. How would everyone react to that? I mean, at least a few of them would want to go back to that peaceful life.

Also, many people have stated that they felt that the twins’ reunion with Wanda was too peaceful and anti-climactic. What if there’s a reason for that? I mean, we’re barely halfway through Children’s Crusade, and it’s odd for it to happen that quickly and quietly. This worries me. What if one or both of our witches are doing something to affect reality, possibly without even realizing it? What if part of this is an illusion? Odds are good that there might be more time-travel shenanigans that may reset the clock all over again.

IDK. Just ideas I was having. Oh, Sims, you and your lolz. (Now I’m tempted to get the BIGGEST PLOT EVER and make an Avengers Mansion so everyone can live together ffff ;;; )

A/N: This was inspired by a couple of conversations with friends, as well as this fabulous commentary by pistolwhippinzombies where it was discussed that perhaps in the Cube, Teddy had had to watch Billy be tortured before we see the story pick up with him passed out on panel and Billy watching. I was intrigued by that thought.

 

I also wanted to explore the aftermath of this event because we see absolutely nothing of how this ended up affecting them on panel. I cried really hard when I read this arc the first time, and by that I mean all out bawling, not just because how emotionally intense that torture scene was but for several other conflicting reasons.  

 

I know Heinberg didn’t write this story arc of the Civil War, and I’m glad because I’m not even actually fond of this arc other than the cute bonding time with the Runaways, and here’s why: out of a dozen characters to choose to torture, the author decided to pick the four specific characters that were openly gay.

 

That is not cool, I don’t care how you spin it. Fucking no. I was really very fucking upset by this, and that’s part of the reason I cried so hard. You do not win a subtlety award Mr. Asshole-author-you-suck-so-bad-I-don’t-even-feel-like-giving-you-enough-recognition-to-look-up-your-name. And to the editor that let that be published? I’m giving you the stink-eye too, whoever the fuck you are.

 

So this is published, and then what? Nothing. We see nothing. If you are going to allow four kids to get the fuck tortured out of them, then at least have it affect them, have it be a part of some kind of character building experience. Nope, it’s like it never fucking happened. UNACCEPTABLE.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. ;_; THIS is the kind of fic I always wanted to write about them, THIS is the kind of thing I’d always wanted to see! GDI this is my fucking headcanon, and it’s like you went into my head and took it and put it down on paper. Well, on screen. Anyway.

God. ;_; All the little details, like Billy’s infection and how Teddy must’ve SEEN when they put in his ear restraint things, and and and BABIES. ;_; Oh my god. This is what I felt after reading that arc, but could never put into words. HRGGGGGGH.This is why you are a fantastic writer. You have the power to go after these things and find the gritty, painful details that make this real. This is fantastic.

I’m massively disappointed at Marvel for never having explored any of this. And for having this happen only to the openly gay characters in the first place. T:

Somehow, I’d always pictured him living in their little hideout thing. I’m glad he has a legit room, although I really hope he doesn’t have super hearing. That could get awkward. And then there’s the hilarity that could ensue from him teasing/trying to confuse Billy’s bros. Oh man. XD
